Frequently asked questions

Everything you need to know before installing ArchiMind. Can't find your answer? Email info@archimindcbc.com.

What building code does ArchiMind check?

ArchiMind checks the California Building Code — specifically CBC 2025 and CBC 2022. You choose the edition at the start of each run. This is a California-specific tool. If your projects are in other states, the checks will not match your local amendments. IBC support is on our roadmap.

Which versions of Revit does it support?

ArchiMind supports Revit 2023, 2024, 2025, and 2026 on Windows 10 and 11. One installer covers all four versions. macOS is not supported — Autodesk Revit is Windows-only.

What does the CBC Analysis check specifically?

The analysis covers 12 compliance domains: occupancy load for all CBC groups per Table 1004.5; Chapter 10 egress (travel distance, exit count and separation, door swing, corridor width, dead ends); stairs and ramps (width, headroom, riser/tread, slope) with floor-plan annotations; fire resistance by construction type (CBC §601/602); building height and area (CBC §504/506); light and ventilation (CBC §1203–§1208); CBC Chapter 11B accessibility (doors, restrooms, accessible parking, EVCS, routes, signage); plumbing fixture counts per CPC 2025 Table 422.1; EVCS accessibility (19 checks per 11B-812); exit sign placement per CBC §1013; and DSA IR 10-2 / IR 11B-10 for K-12 and community college projects. Results include a Fix button for door-width failures, ramp fix suggestions, exit sign placement recommendations, and a Draw Guide Lines option that marks violations on your floor plan view.

Does ArchiMind require an internet connection inside Revit?

No. All CBC compliance checks run entirely inside Revit on your machine using the embedded rule engine — no model data is sent to any server during an analysis run. The only optional network activity is an update check ping and an opt-in dashboard sync that uploads summary pass/fail counts and occupancy load data to your project history. Your .rvt file and model geometry never leave your machine.

How is the license key delivered?

After a successful checkout, a license key in the format ARCM-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX is generated automatically and shown on your Download & Install page inside your ArchiMind account. It usually appears within a few seconds of payment. If it's not showing after 2 minutes, refresh the page or contact support.

Can I use one license on multiple computers?

ArchiMind is licensed per seat. One seat = one named user with the license activated on their machine — you can install on multiple machines but only one can be active at a time. Pro is $99/seat/mo (billed annually) for full CBC analysis. Pro Plus is $179/seat/mo for Pro plus Live mode and Auto-fix. Enterprise is custom pricing for firms with 15+ seats. See /pricing for the full breakdown.

What does the HTML report export contain?

The HTML report is a formatted compliance summary suitable for permit submittals or client deliverables. It lists all check results by category (egress, height/area, plumbing), flags violations with the relevant CBC code section, and includes room-level occupancy assignments. It opens in any browser and can be printed to PDF.

Does ArchiMind work with linked Revit models?

The current version analyzes the active model. Rooms, walls, doors, and windows in linked models are not included in the analysis. This is on our roadmap for a future release.

Is there a free trial?

We don't currently offer a free trial. All plans come with a 15-day money-back guarantee — if ArchiMind doesn't work for your workflow, email info@archimindcbc.com within 15 days of purchase for a full refund.

How do I cancel?

Email info@archimindcbc.com at any time. We cancel immediately and you retain access until the end of your current billing period. No cancellation fees.

What happens to my data?

Geometry data extracted from your model is used to run the compliance check and is stored in your project history for 90 days. We do not share your data with third parties. See our Privacy Policy for full details.

Will ArchiMind support other building codes in the future?

Yes. IBC and other jurisdiction support is on our roadmap. Sign up at archimindcbc.com and we will notify you when your jurisdiction is available.

Does ArchiMind support DSA projects?

Yes. ArchiMind includes DSA IR 10-2 occupant load factors for K-12 and community college projects, and DSA IR 11B-10 Path of Travel checks for alteration projects — including construction valuation threshold logic. Select DSA jurisdiction in the setup dialog before running analysis.

Does ArchiMind check California Chapter 11B accessibility?

Yes. Chapter 11B checks cover door clear width and hardware, lavatory and sink clearances, toilet dimensions and grab bars, accessible parking count, EVCS accessibility (19 checks per CBC 11B-812), accessible routes, sales counters, and signage — going beyond standard ADA to meet California's stricter requirements. Restroom compliance includes 30+ individual checks covering stall dimensions, grab bar placement, urinal height, turning radius, and more.

What is the dockable results panel?

After running CBC Analysis, results appear in a dockable WPF panel that stays open inside Revit alongside your model. It shows per-room pass/fail results organised by compliance domain, ramp fix suggestions, and exit sign placement recommendations — without needing to open a separate report window. The panel updates each time you run a new analysis.
